AI projections mapped onto the colosseum
The project developed by Squatters Lab for the Colosseum, on the occasion of the Italy–Korea Cultural Exchange Year, marked a historic milestone: for the first time ever, the ancient monument hosted projections created and reinterpreted through Artificial Intelligence.
The visual concept blended Italian cultural heritage, from classical art to Renaissance and Baroque motifs, with advanced generative design, precisely mapped onto the Colosseum’s unique architecture.
This international collaboration brought together Korean artist Lee Lee Nam, known for his poetic digital reinterpretations, and Vincenzo Marsiglia, invited by Squatters Lab for his distinctive geometric language. The result transformed the Colosseum into a living symbol of cultural dialogue, technological innovation, and contemporary artistic vision.
